Fly tying is a hobby all by itself, there is nothing like catching fish on the flies that you tied.

Tying flies is easier to do then you think.
Pick up a cheap starter kit, If you don't know anyone who ties their own flies, or if there is no place for you to get lessons, pick up a beginner video tape.
I learned to tie flies from my friend Chuck Heffernan.
